FEATURED SPEAKERS

DAY 1: SEE OSD DAY

Friday March 27th CE Lectures

** all lectures are pending COPE approval

Simplifying the Storm: A Clearer Path with DEWS III -- Dheri/McGee/Brujic

DEWS III is bringing long-awaited clarity to the way we diagnose and manage ocular surface disease. This course breaks down the newest framework into practical steps any clinician can apply on Monday morning. We’ll translate updated definitions, staging, and subgroup classifications into a workflow that improves diagnostic confidence and treatment consistency. Attendees will learn how to streamline testing, match therapies to disease stage, and communicate findings in a way that resonates with patients.

Hands-On Healing: Procedural Solutions in OSD -- McGee/Brujic
Many patients can only reach lasting relief through procedures that go beyond drops and compresses. This session covers the in-office techniques that treat the underlying drivers of disease. We’ll review thermal therapies, IPL, RF, LLLT, debridement, lid hygiene technologies, and thoughtful meibomian gland expression. Attendees will learn when to escalate, how to sequence procedures, and how to design a comprehensive protocol that enhances long-term outcomes.

When Formulas Matter: Pharmacology's Role in Dry Eye Success -- Brujic
Modern dry eye care is as much about chemistry as it is about clinical skill. This course reviews the pharmaceutical agents that move the needle for ocular surface stability. We’ll compare mechanisms, onset of action, safety profiles, and which drug classes work best for our OSD patients. From anti-inflammatories to secretagogues and advanced prescription drops, attendees will gain clarity on when to prescribe, how to sequence medications, and how to set expectations for success.

What Lies Beneath (and On Top): From Collarettes to Clogs -- McGee
Not all ocular surface issues start on the surface. This session explores the underlying—and sometimes overlooked—contributors to chronic irritation and inflammation. We’ll examine the full spectrum from Demodex collarettes to meibomian obstruction patterns, biofilm, keratinization, and lid-margin changes. Through diagnostic and imaging examples, participants will learn how to identify root causes, choose targeted therapies, and avoid misdiagnoses that slow down healing.

Neurotrophic, Neuropathic, Neuro-What? Navigating Nerve-Driven OSD -- McGee/Brujic
Not every “dry eye” patient has dryness as the primary problem. This course demystifies nerve-based ocular surface conditions and how to differentiate them from evaporative or aqueous-deficient disease. We’ll cover the “ocular surface” nerve anatomy, key diagnostic clues, imaging findings, and management options for neurotrophic keratopathy and neuropathic pain. Attendees will gain confidence in recognizing these challenging cases early, reducing mismanagement, and guiding patients toward more predictable relief.

Future Sight: How Emerging Science Will Reshape OSD -- McGee/Brujic/Kading
From biomarkers to biomechanical therapies, the future of ocular surface disease is evolving quickly. This session looks ahead at innovations on the horizon and the science behind them. We’ll explore regenerative options, next-generation pharmaceuticals, AI-enhanced technologies,  and device technologies that may redefine the standard of care. Participants will walk away with a clear understanding of where the field is heading and how to prepare their clinics for what’s coming next.

From Insight to Implementation: The Business Engine of a Modern OSD Clinic -- McGee/Brujic/Kading
Outstanding clinical care only thrives when supported by smart systems. This course offers a practical look at how to design and operate a profitable ocular surface service line. We’ll cover scheduling models, technician roles, coding and compliance, pricing strategy, patient communication, and ROI forecasting. Attendees will learn how to reduce bottlenecks, increase capacity, and create a smooth patient experience that supports sustained growth.

DAY 2:

Saturday March 28th CE Lectures

** all lectures are pending COPE approval

Myopia Management 2026: Evidence, Protocols, and Practice Integration -- Kading/Dheri
Myopia care is advancing fast, and 2026 brings new data, new lenses, and better long-term clarity. This course distills the current evidence base into practical protocols for every age and progression pattern. We’ll cover optical, contact lens, pharmaceutical, and behavioral approaches, dosing strategy, axial length thresholds, and how to manage complex cases. Attendees will also learn how to integrate myopia care smoothly into a busy practice, including scheduling, staff roles, parent communication, and outcome tracking.

A Kids Course: Little Eyeballs Gone Rogue -- Kapp/ K Kading
Children’s eyes don’t always follow the rules, and this session covers the most common ways they go off track. From strabismus and amblyopia to convergence challenges, accommodative dysfunction, and pediatric red flags, we’ll give clinicians a clear approach to recognizing early signs and intervening before long-term problems develop. This course blends clinical pearls with practical tools to help parents understand what’s happening and how you can guide their child back to visual stability.

Virtual Teams in Everyday Eyecare -- Kading
The modern eyecare clinic relies on efficiency, communication, and flexibility, making virtual teams a valuable extension of your in-office staff. This course outlines how digital scribes, virtual patient support, and remote operations can help stabilize workflow, reduce burnout, and improve patient experience. We’ll cover implementation models, HIPAA considerations, training, and the best places to start. Attendees will leave with a clear picture of how to build a hybrid team that strengthens quality and productivity.

Practice of the Future -- McGee/Brujic/Haynie/Kading
Eyecare is shifting toward data-driven care, advanced diagnostics, patient-centered design, and new technology that redefines efficiency. This course highlights the emerging tools and systems shaping tomorrow’s eyecare practice. Participants will learn how to adapt strategically and build a resilient clinic ready for the next decade of change.

Faculty Favorites: Cases That Changed My Practice -- McGee/Brujic/Haynie/Kading
Behind every seasoned clinician is a case that reshaped how they think. This session brings SEE faculty together to share the moments that made them better doctors. Each case spotlights a pivotal diagnostic clue, a management twist, a missed detail, or a surprising outcome. The fast-paced format keeps it engaging while delivering high-yield lessons you can apply immediately in clinic

AMD: Optometry Gaining a Larger Role -- Haynie
New imaging tools and recently approved treatments for geographic atrophy are shifting AMD care more firmly into optometry’s hands. This course highlights how to recognize early structural changes, interpret OCT findings that predict progression, and identify GA long before it reaches a visually significant stage. We’ll review risk stratification, nutritional guidance, and communication strategies for patients facing the anxiety of atrophy progression. Particular focus will be placed on how ODs can monitor treated and untreated GA, coordinate with retina colleagues, and manage visit frequency, testing protocols, and patient expectations as new therapies and clinical trials expand. Attendees will gain clarity on how to integrate GA management into routine care while actively contributing to better long-term outcomes.

Retina Grand Rounds – Rapid Fire Retina -- Haynie
Get ready for a fast-moving, image-packed session covering a wide range of retinal findings. This grand-rounds style course brings short, high-impact cases that challenge your diagnostic instincts. From subtle OCT clues to uncommon presentations, each case is designed to sharpen clinical decision-making and highlight pearls that can change how you approach retina in primary care.
